** Temporarily OUT OF STOCK **

10-05-07.  Nearly all dealers are out of stock on this item.  I was told by GunVault, that their entire current inventory and expected shipments, have been dedicated to very large chainstores.

As a result of their priority favoring the LARGE buying power, the rest of their dealers will have to take a backseat and will not receive any inventory until after the 1st of the Year.

As a retailer I can personally report, that the immediate failure rate for a NEW right out of the box GVB 2000 is approximately 15%.  I do not have any statistics for vaults that are over one week old, as these failure would be reported to GunVault and not me.  This 15% Failure Rate, can increase or decrease based on future sales.

I recommend the BioVault 2.0.  In my opinion, the increased security and a more reliable fingerprint reader, make it well worth the difference in price.         Go To BioVault 2.0 Click Here.

** From Secure to Access in Seconds **

GunVault gun safes are truly premium security products that set the standard for the rest of the industry. The patented No-Eyes® Keypad and Bio pad  provide lightning-quick access, even in the dark. Choose the Mini, Multi, or BioVault when you need quick-access storage for your handgun - or the HomeVault when you want space for additional valuables.

WHY IS THIS VAULT BETTER THAN THE COMPETITION? 1biometric_hand.jpg

The GVB2000 Bio uses biometrics, specifically fingerprint recognition, to access the safe contents. A high-performance algorithm is used to achieve speedy identification of enrolled fingerprints; and at the same time has a very low False Reject Rate (FRR) for a given False Accept Rate (FAR). This self-learning algorithm of the GunVault Bio adds new minutiae to the fingerprint sensor, which decreases the likelihood of FRR, updates slight changes that might occur over time to an enrolled fingerprint, as well as to help distinguish variations between the enrolled fingerprints. System can handle a maximum of thirty fingerprint templates.

** NOTE FROM - America Safe Depot

Like many other locks, the Biometric Fingerprint Reader, comes in a variety of different qualities, or grades if you will.  As far as I am aware, at this time there is no "Set Acceptable Standard" for these locks. This has allowed for some inferior Biometric locks being put on a variety of products by some Chinese manufacturers.  This seems to have been caused by the desire to, "Beat the competitions price".

Brand names used to be how a consumer could somewhat judge, the quality of the product they were about to purchase.  However, times have certainly changed as many manufacturers, or Importers seem to settle for an inferior made product, so they can remain competitive.  They know many shoppers always shop for the absolute lowest price they can find, before shelling out their hard earned bucks.

If the consumer does not have the proper information, how can they make a good informed decision before making a purchase?  I guess I am not like most retailers, that know very little about the products they sell.  I want to KNOW all I can before I sell it to you.

I personally picked a GVB2000 vault at random and tested it, to see how well it opens.  I entered my fingerprint 50 times and got 50 openings, in a row.  I was very impressed.  Hopefully, you will get the same results.  I was careful and tried to put the print exactly in the same place, with the same amount of pressure as when I programmed the print into the vault.

Here are some things that may help you in your search to purchase a good biometric lock.  I will use the specifications for this lock as an example to compare to.  If you can find a lock, that beats these specifications, please let me know, I want to buy it.  A lot of inferior locks will not advertise or mention the specifications on their locks.  They want to maximize the good points and minimize the bad points of a product.  They will not say, "It has good steel and paint, but the lock is pretty much junk, but look how cheap we sell it."  Many times what they don't say can tell you as much about a product, as what they do say.  Believe me, if a product has a good point, they will bring that to your attention, while not mentioning the bad points.  That is just good marketing.

GVB2000 Specifications:

Fingerprint Sensor:  500 DPI optical sensor

Verification Time : < 0.8 seconds.  The time to approve your print.

FRR: < 0.1% This stands for False Rejection Rate for an authorized print.

FAR: < 0.0001% This stand for False Acceptance Rate, for a print NOT authorized.

Below are some of the problems I have experienced, in trying to find a quality Biometric Fingerprint Lock to sell.

1. Some locks are very slow to open (5-6 Sec.) when your finger is placed on them.

2. Sometimes the lock reader, will reject your print.  If your print is rejected three times in a row, many locks will then lock you out, for a specified amount of time.

3. They will reject your print if not placed, "EXACTLY" in the same place each time.

4. They will accept prints that are "NOT" programmed into them.

5. They have lost the memory of "ALL" programmed prints, even though the battery power is adequate.

I hope this information will help you.  If you have additional questions
